Fun moments of Bears’ Celebrity Golf fund-raiser captured by Blue Sky and delivered by 19th hole

For the eighth year, Blue Sky Video’s Bruce Himmelblau donned his golf cap, picked up his camera and headed out to the Deerpath golf course where he’d have a short video waiting for players at the 19th hole.

The May 24 celebrated the 25th Chicago Bears-Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Chamber of Commerce Celebrity Golf Outing.

Twenty past and present Chicago Bears, coaches and administrators have participated in fund-raiser for Bears’ selected charities and the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce.

Each Bears personnel become the fifth player in a group comprised of VIP Chamber guests.

Himmelblau began shooting “highlights on the funny side” of the game with a 24P Panasonic 100A camera of the game, from the noon shotgun start of the four-hour game to its simultaneous finish.

To complete the editing in time for the 19th hole festivities, a Fire Store was utilized—“a portable hard drive that plugs into the camera and captures the video as we shoot it. Then it’s unplugged from the camera and plugged into a laptop.”

The video added to the players’ experience “so they didn’t miss anything,” said Himmelblau. “It opened the meeting for the announcements of various contests.”

Himmeblau’s full-service company has been in business for 20 years. He and editor Sue Lawson comprise the full-time staff that’s augmented by four permalancers.

Blue Sky Video is located at 207 W. Witchwood, Lake Bluff; phone, 847/295-9555; see www.bsvp.com.
