October 27, 2005
Sarasota, FL - At WEVA
EXPO 2005, ikan Corporation introduced wedding & event videographers to

Ikan notes their 2.5 inch V2500 monitor is not only their smallest (and
cheapest) LCD, it’s also their most versatile. The unit features both audio
and video connections along with a built-in stand for tabletop use. "The
V2500 is so small and light you can stick it anywhere video monitoring is
needed,” says ikan’s Kan Yeung.
The V7000 ($349) is a 7-inch widescreen monitor (antiglare TFT display) for
mounting onto cameras for field or studio use. It features horizontal and
vertical display flipping to accommodate various mounting positions, a single
connector disconnect for quick setups and strikes, and a switchable aspect ratio
for 16:9 and 4:3. The monitor is compatible with NTSC or PAL.
Lighting Up
On the WEVA Trade Show floor, ikan also displayed their new line of fluorescent
lights, which includes eight fixtures ranging from a 110 watt two-tube model
($799) to a 12-tube 660 watt fixture ($1,699). Click

All units use an economical 55 watt biax tube available in tungsten and daylight
color balances. Each fixture is equipped with a dimmable, flicker-free ballast
and onboard dimming controls, along with a four-way barn door intensifier
system.
The two and four tube models are available in two configurations, either a
stacked array for maximum light output or in a strip for low clearance
installations. For larger studio applications the DMX-512 (dimming control unit)
is also available as an accessory.
